Overview

During this app redesign, I aim to show you how I approached solving the problem facing the user of this app. Using design thinking, I will re-order the user flow, create a wireframe, conduct user testing, create a high fidelity mockup and work to solve interaction issues.

Product Overview

GCBUYING was created with the single goal in mind:

to propel Africa into the modern technological age by building an ideal trading space that is efficient and easy to use. We have taken into consideration a broad range of factors to precisely target the current market needs of our customers to make their lives easier.

After series research, i was enable to identify top five industry leading competition to Qucbuying

Most of them are designed towards the african market. Qubuying primary purpose is to simplify the process and solve them

Understanding the Problem

STAKEHOLDER INTERVIEWS

To kick things off, I conducted semi-structured interviews to better understand the goals and expectations of the business stakeholders.

This meant asking questions as to:

  • What the business objectives were
  • What problems they were trying to solve
  • Who they were trying to solve the problems for
  • What requirements existed for the product, etc.

Key objectives

The stakeholder was given a 2week deadline to ship the product  so the developer can start coding.

Who are the average User and Audience

Young adult Age 16-44

Crypto enthusiast

Smart phone users (By the end of 2020, i.e 46% people in Sub-Saharan Africa,)

Visual Design Process

LAYOUT AND COLOURS

The existing system had an already established color scheme and layout, so I had to work around implementing the new features, while unifying the visual direction for the entire product.

I collated the styles that had been chosen for the visual language of the product and made them into a design system to communicate the implementation as best as possible to the rest of the team.

Factor in accessibility considerations for motion hypersensitivity and color sensitivity user: Some of the interactions and color combination that were designed or use for the product have not been implemented because we had to factor in some accessibilty considerations for people with motion hypersensitivity.
