This is a subscription based feature of the main Zuri health app which is dedicated to instant doctor consultation services. Following the launch of our app, feedback came flooding in about Doctor consultation sections of the app. Which was a scheduling based feature where users could schedule a consultation appointment with a doctor, sort like Uber but for doctors and patients.
Providing affordable and accessible healthcare solutions is at the heart of Zuri Health.
Zuri Health is an all inclusive integrated mobile app and web app that digitally connects patients with doctors.
Millions of people in Africa do not have access to quality medical care. Zuri Health has taken time to develop a product that will fill that gap, giving doctors and health workers a wider and easier platform to reach patients who need them. With Zuri Health the underserved populace can now access affordable and sustainable healthcare.
Feedbacks we received from users includes but are not limited to:
The user goal was simple, they wanted a feature where they can access a doctor for 24hrs with little or no waiting period, was cost effective and straightforward. So the CEOs task to me was simple: “Tochi our users are not happy, we have to make them happy”. And off I went with the zeal of a religious nutjob, with the aim to make the users happy.
Good artists copy, Great artists…. So I met with the product team and we carried out a competitive analysis of other existing medical solution apps to see how these businesses had been able to approach the same problems and execute similar ideas.
Trying out firsthand experiences with some of these applications enabled the product team and I to note down the things we could have done right.
Our process at zuri health is based on the Double Diamond Theory and Lean UX process. We aim to incorporate the key phases of Discovery, Definition, Ideation and Implementation in all of our projects.
So after endless discussion and deliberation by the product and I, we reach the following conclusion.
Thus killing 3 birds with one stone.
To better the experience, I will be working on creating simpler flows for the Doc on duty feature, major features, and other hidden features that could be helpful for users. By creating simple user flows, I will be able to provide easy navigation on the entire application.
Wireframes help me focus on key functions, elements, and actions before starting the visual design. I created High-Fidelity wireframes using some dummy texts and icons where needed. It also helped me test out our new flow which I created with real users, and incorporated their feedback in final designs.
I created my high fidelity mockups in Figma and I'm presently working with developers to spec out any missing interactions that were not covered in the high fidelity mockups. I am conducting a UX review of each front-end ticket as they are being implemented to ensure it aligns with the designs.
As a startup, we're limited in hands and are working on development of the live parts of pharmacy website. There's a long line of features that are newly designed that still need to go through development, so we had to put this off for now.
We'll need to fix any problem areas we find, but after that, it's off to developers to build and marketing to promote!
I've also worked on other new features, updating the app to improve usability, and working as a team lead for Zurihealth.
